Plans have been submitted for Whitehall Plaza – a £30m office and hotel development adjacent to Leeds City Rail Station on Whitehall Road.

The plans, submitted for Gregory Projects of Leeds and Marshalls of Elland, include a 130-bed hotel together with a restaurant as well as 50,000 sq ft of Grade A office space with associated basement parking.

The scheme is proposed to be built on a vacant 26,136 sq ft site in front of No 1 Whitehall Riverside.

Richard Tovey at Gregory Projects, which is a part of Leeds based Gregory Property Holdings, said: "Whitehall Plaza is a major commitment for the partnership. We are extremely pleased with the design proposals which fit well with the local landscape and add value to the existing provision of prime office and hotel space in the city.

"The office element is intended to compete with other prestigious office developments in the city, its core advantage being its proximity to the busy city rail station. We intend to pre le the offices which will allow potential occupiers the chance to influence the overall design and layout of their space."

Planning approval is expected by the end of the year with an anticipated start on site in the first half of 2012.

Joint letting agents are Sanderson Weatherall and DTZ. WSB is representing Premier Inn.
