A NUMBER of deals have been completed following the completion of the latest phase of Yorkshire business park Mariner Court.

Mariner Court, located on Calder Park just off J39 of the M1 at Wakefield, will eventually provide more than 58,000 sq ft of Grade A office space within a range of units starting at 1,000 sq ft.

More than 40,000 sq ft has already been speculatively built by property developer Gladman with the scheme attracting a range of occupiers including United Business Centres, Aqua Mist Fire Protection and Diagnostic Health Solutions.

Paul Roberts, of Gladman Developments, said: "In this challenging market place the level of interest we have seen at Mariner Court is very encouraging and reflects the quality of space that we have created combined with the competitive terms we are able to offer to prospective occupiers.”

Calder Park provides 15 self contained office buildings.

Mr Roberts added: "Our speculative construction of Mariner Court reflects our confidence in the Wakefield office market with our aim being to create an office environment that appeals to occupier's needs for flexible, high quality, internet ready accommodation.”

WSB Property Consultants and Lambert Smith Hampton are the agents for the development with the remaining units available either for sale or to let.

Robin Beagley, of Leeds-based WSB, said: "This is the only speculative out of town office park development in the region and its success reflects the fact that we are starting to see signs of improvement in business sentiment.

"Its success this year is positive news for both Calder Park and Wakefield's commercial property market."
