Accountancy and business advisor, Haines Watts, has taken a lease for the third floor of 56 Wellington Street in Leeds, following an extensive programme of refurbishment at the grade II listed city centre property.

The business joins existing tenant, The Dental Architect, in the building which is owned by regional property investment and development specialist, Westcourt Group. (WSB)
The lease for Haines Watts is for 2,500 sq ft of space and was brokered by letting agents WSB.

Robin Beagley, partner at WSB, said: “The completion of this letting is testimony to the quality of the refurbishment of this beautiful Grade II listed building".

“The programme of works has incorporated a sympathetic approach to the interior design, that has made the most of the building’s industrial past through exposed cast iron columns and structural timbers creating some really unique office space.”

56 Wellington Street dates back to 1873 and now features a total of 10,676 sq ft of office space. The refurbishment has included a new feature reception area, LED lighting, cycle storage, showers and changing facilities.

Tim Hodgson, managing director of owner and developer Westcourt, added: “This letting goes to demonstrate that businesses are not similarly looking for conventional office space, they want space that offers a creative and inspiring working environment.

“We already have strong interest in the three remaining offices, with suites ranging from 1,450 sq ft up to 2,500 sq ft.”

The letting of the office space is being dealt with by joint agents WSB Property Consultants and Harvey Burns & Co. Leeds-based agents, Fox Lloyd Jones, represented Haines Watts.
